Back in October of 2014, I wasn’t happy with were things were going for me. I weighed about 317 lbs and I was working in an industry that I didn’t want to be in. To put it in perspective I was a cross country runner in school and kept pretty active. I managed to keep myself in fairly decent shape at the time by running in fun runs and lifting weights on occasion. Once I broke into the field of IT, everything started to get better. I found the drive and motivation to get back into shape and I registered for my first OCR (obstacle course race) event called Warrior Dash and got back into the gym. At the start I was running about three days a week and working with a personal trainer. In the roughly nine months of training for that race plus a cleaner diet, I managed to lose about 40 lbs. Fast forward to now, I’m down to roughly 197lbs and have never felt better.
